Next week is my seventh anniversary and we’re looking into some fun date night ideas and going out! To some this may seem like a small, trivial thing to be excited about but not for us. You see, with two kids under the age of four, going on a date means paying a babysitter (on top of the cost of the actual date) and figuring out if we have a free night during the week — that seems to fill up ever SO quickly these days.

Needless to say, our date nights are much fewer and further between than they were prior to children. That’s why I have created this fun list of date night ideas for you and your partner. My goal is for your date nights away to be full of fun and connecting with one another and not just sitting and talking about your kiddos and calendar. Happy dating and enjoy!

Here are some additional tricks to help reinvent date night!

10 Creative Date Night Ideas To Break The Routine

Try this list of date night ideas for you and your partner! My goal is for your date nights away to be full of fun and connecting with one another.

1. Local Progressive Dinner

For this date, choose three of your favorite local restaurants- or better yet, three restaurants that you have never tried yet but always talked about visiting. Enjoy an appetizer and drinks at your first stop, your main course at the second and finish with dessert at your third choice!

2. Brunch Date

Sometimes it can be challenging to find a babysitter for Saturday evenings but, often Saturday mornings are open! A brunch date is a fun way to try something new without struggling to find a sitter.

3. Visit a Brewery

and share a tasting OR wine and cheese paring

If you and/ or your partner are fans of wine, beer and liquor (oh my!), a beer or wine tasting can be an interesting way to connect and learn something new. Enjoy lingering over your drinks instead of rushing from place to place, as you often do.

4. Play a Board Game

Sometimes it’s good to get in touch with your playful side! Often my husband and I find ourselves being way too serious about everything. Playing a game can be an easy way to let go of the stress and loosen up a little- remember what is really important.

5. Take a Dance Lesson

Taking a dance lesson is a creative way to try something new together. There’s nothing like learning a new skill to bond a couple. It takes vulnerability, risk and a good sense of humor. Give it a try!

6. Go to a Trivia Night

Trivia and drinks is always an inexpensive way to have a fun time together. If you’re looking for laughter and fun instead of a romantic evening to connect, this choice may be for you!

7. People Watch from Up High

Admittedly, people watching is one of my favorite things to do. Why not grab a hot cup of something, climb to the top of a building and look out on the people below as the sun sets. It will be a special memory you two will not forget.

8. Plan a Hike with a Romantic Picnic

If you and your partner are up for some exercise and beautiful sights to see, pack a special picnic and throw on your hiking boots for some one on one time outdoors.

9. Couples Massage

Couples massages are a great choice for those couples who need some time to disconnect and enjoy a little self care. This can be a romantic date that you will leave feeling refreshed and ready to take on life back at home.

10. Try a New Cuisine

I am a HUGE fan of trying foods from different cultures. Hop online and do a quick search for different cuisines you and your partner have not yet ventured to try.
