The Best Ever Christmas Puppy Chow Recipe

If you’re looking for a treat to make to make over the holidays, this Christmas puppy chow recipe is the perfect sweet snack. Impress your friends, neighbors, or co-workers with this super easy and delicious treat.

My husband works at a small office with only 20 other staff members, so we like to give all of his co-workers something special over the holidays. This year we decided on puppy chow, but I wanted to give it an extra special Christmas touch. It’s the traditional recipe, but we load it up with milk chocolate M&M’s, peanut butter M&M’s, and some Reese’s peanut butter cups! This Christmas puppy chow recipe will not disappoint. I mean who doesn’t like puppy chow?!?

The Best Ever Christmas Puppy Chow Recipe

The amount we made was enough to fill 20 little Christmas treat bags (minus what the kids and I ate!). I’m going to split the recipe so you don’t have to make so much at a time. But if you do want to make a larger recipe, feel free to double or triple the ingredients!

Serving Size: 10 people

Ingredients:

• 1 Family Size Box of Corn Chex
• 1 Stick of Butter
• 1 Cup Peanut Of Butter
• 2 Cups of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
• 2 Tsp of Vanilla
• 3-4 Cups of Powdered Sugar

Directions:

1. Dump your box of cereal in a large bowl. The largest “container” I had was an old roasting pan so I used that. I liked how wide it was for mixing.
2. Melt the butter, peanut butter, and chocolate chips in a sauce pan on low heat until everything is mixed and smooth. Stir frequently and don’t leave the mix unattended. It won’t take long. Turn off heat and add vanilla.
3. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal and mix.
4. Put mixture into large ziploc bag and add powdered sugar. Shake! I separated the mixture into several large baggies since it couldn’t all fit into one. If you do this, just make sure to split up the powdered sugar evenly between the baggies.
5. Pour the mixture out to cool. Add your festive treats! I ended up just adding the milk chocolate and peanut butter M&M’s. I wanted to add some chopped up peanut butter cups also, but we were late for a party and had to get going!
